Redding Nonprofits Are Brimming with Exciting Upcoming Events

Redding Community Coalition Nonprofits have a full calendar of exciting intergenerational events coming up with opportunities to connect with fellow community members, immerse in an array of activities, and support strong missions.

The Granite’s debut is coming up this Saturday, May 18th in Georgetown from 1-9pm with activities for all ages and music, a wonderful reintroduction to a community gathering place. The Redding Education Foundation is hosting a golf tournament on Monday, May 20th and still has some openings available. The Boys & Girls Club of Redding-Easton is holding their Memorial Day Picnic on Saturday, May 25th from 1-5pm, a wonderful opportunity to honor those who have served and spend time with family and friends. Mark Twain Library’s summer reading program begins soon and their new outdoor patio (loggia) will be open for all to enjoy in the summer as well.

Coming up in June, the New Pond Farm Education Center is hosting an Open Day on Saturday June 1 from 1-4, and members of Redding Neighbors and Newcomers will be on-site to greet community members. Georgetown Village Restoration Inc. is hosting Georgetown Day on Sunday, June 9th from 12-5:30pm, an annual time of togetherness and celebration of community that is not to be missed. Volunteers are still welcomed and appreciated to lend a hand throughout the day. On Saturday, June 15 New Pond Farm Education Center and the Redding Garden Club are co-sponsoring a joyful Garden Tour featuring eight inspiring gardens around town with New Pond as the lunch stop.

The League of Women Voters is hosting its annual meeting on June 17th with Connecticut Secretary of State, Stephanie Thomas, as their speaker. Westbrook Nature School is celebrating their landmark 10th anniversary on June 22, a time to celebrate their mission and bring together generations of those positively impacted.

July brings with it the Redding Historical Society’s Rock ‘N Roots Revival on Saturday, July 13th from 3-10pm, a time to celebrate the deep roots of Redding with your dancing shoes on. The launch of SOAR Together’s Social Seats breakfast at The Old Mill Market on Thursday, July 18th at 9:30am, a time for residents to enjoy connecting with one another while supporting local. SOAR also invites all to Sherwood Island for its SOAR Strolls program every Sunday at 10am, a weekly social gathering in a scenic, uplifting setting. It’s a time for those from towns across Fairfield County to enjoy connecting with others who enjoy the sights and sounds of an ocean backdrop.
