Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on RT 107 in the Georgetown section of Redding. Both vehicles were traveling east on RT 107 when the vehicle which was traveling in front of Cleary stopped and Cleary’s vehicle struck the rear of the other vehicle. Cleary fled the scene and was spotted by another Redding Officer traveling into the center of Redding on RT 107. When Cleary saw the officer he fled and was ultimately stopped by police on Gallows Hill Rd. Cleary was field tested and taken into custody. He was additionally charged with carrying a firearm while under the influence as he was in possession of a loaded semi automatic handgun. Cleary’s blood alcohol content was approximately twice the legal limit.

Cleary’s vehicle sustained heavy front end damage and the other vehicle only minor damage. There were no injuries.

Cleary will be released on $500 cash bond to appear in Danbury Court later this month. Arresting Officers: K Peterson, C Vadas
