Thirty poets and musicians will read and perform in support of eliminating the culture of gun violence in the United States on Saturday, September 28th. The extraordinary event will include poets and musicians of all ages from near and far. Newtown will be represented by many, including high school students and Rabbi Shaul Marshall Praver. Connecticut's Poet Laureate, Dick Allen, will bring the festivities to a close.
Poets for Change is graciously sponsored by the MFA Program in Creative and Professional Writing at WestConn, Newtown Action Alliance, and the Junior Newtown Action Alliance.
The event is at the Westside Campus Center at Western CT State University, 43 Lake Avenue Ext, Danbury, CT 06811. It begins at 10 a.m. and concludes at 6 p.m.
Food and drink will be available, and poets will be available to sign books.
