Bethel, Newtown and Redding Police Departments Carry the Torch for Special Olympics on Friday

Bethel, Newtown and Redding Police Departments will participate in the 2017 Special Olympics Torch Run this Friday, June 9

The Newtown Police, Garner Correctional, and Redding Police Dept will be running the Newtown portion of the 2017 Special Olympics Torch Run this Friday, June 9th, from approximately 11:30 am until 1:00 pm.

They will take the Torch from the Bethel Police Deptartment in the area of Dodgingtown Market and from there they will run the torch down Rt 302, onto Glover Ave, make a left onto Queen St, take a right onto Church Hill Rd, and end at the Blue Colony Diner. The torch will then be passed onto State Police Troop A.

The Special Olympics torch run is a way to raise awareness for Special Olympics of Connecticut as well as a way for local law enforcement agencies to raise money for Special Olympics of Connecticut. The Newtown Police Dept would like to give special thanks to the Newtown Schools, St Rose School, NJK Automotive LLC, Faxon Law Group, Salon Michele and Castle Hill Chocolate for their generous donations which helped the Newtown Police raise over $4,000 for Special Olympics.

All are welcome to come out and support us on any portion of our run.
