Ridgefield resident Conner Curran is a seven-year-old boy who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a fatal genetic disorder affecting muscles of the limbs, trunk, lungs and heart. Most Duchenne patients are confined to a wheelchair in their early teens and do not live past their late twenties.
The Curran family is desperate for a cure for Conner and the thousands of other boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. To that end, they founded Kindness Over Muscular Dystrophy (#KOMD) which operates under the parent nonprofit Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy.
The Curran's explain, "Kindness Over Muscular Dystrophy – our name says it all - because without your kindness, support and love we just can’t accomplish our precious mission to save our son’s life in time."
On Saturday night, June 10, friends and supporters gathered at the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company in Elmsford, NY for the second annual KOMD fundraiser, a sold-out event that honored Conner and raised more than $91,000 toward the fight to end Duchenne.
