On April 21, RVNA will hold its 44th Annual Community Health & Wellness Fair from 10:00am to 3:00pm at East Ridge Middle School, 10 East Ridge Road in downtown Ridgefield.
More than 80 exhibitors will be on hand to provide free screenings from skin cancer and carotid artery assessments to vision, hearing and cholesterol testing. You can learn hands-only CPR from the Ridgefield Fire Department and enjoy a chair massage. Exhibitors will have information on health-related topics such as Alzheimer’s and Lyme Disease, caregiver and cancer support, and community resources including Meals on Wheels, Ridgefield Emergency Preparedness and Rides for Ridgefield. The popular “Ask the Expert” booths will allow an opportunity for one-on-one conversations with doctors in various specialties, as well as other healthcare professionals. Representatives from traditional, alternative and integrative medicine will be present. There will be booths on acupuncture, stress relief and the use of therapy dogs. Durable medical equipment can be brought in for donation to The NEAT Center at Oak Hill.
The Community Health & Wellness Fair provides an essential public service. Each year the Fair potentially saves a life when a serious condition requiring immediate medical attention is detected during one of the free screenings offered. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about your health, and health and wellness resources in the community. RVNA encourages attendees to bring a non-perishable food item (low sodium, low sugar, low fat, whole grain, etc.) for our food pantry serving needy patients. Entry to the Health Fair, all screenings and information are free of charge, and East Ridge Middle School has ample parking. For more details, visit www.ridgefieldvna.org or call 203.438.5555.
