Explore five private gardens in Redding, Ridgefield, and Wilton, open for self-guided tours to benefit the Garden Conservancy, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Highlights include a reflecting pool with French curves of catmint on the outer borders, a woodland setting among large glacially deposited rocks with a man-made winding brook, garden sculpture, rustic bridges, specimen trees, and a kitchen courtyard garden. In Wilton, home-grown perennials, trees, and shrubs, plus garden ornaments and vintage watering cans will be for sale. Plus, a pop-up boutique in the "party" barn featuring wonderful items for sale by local artisans.

A Digging Deeper lecture takes place in Redding at 11 a.m. & 3 p.m.: “Elements of Historical Garden Design—Bringing Ideas of the Past into Gardens of Today,” with garden designer Laura Stabell.
