Annual Harvest Festival at New Pond Farm on Saturday, October 13 from 11am – 4pm

New Pond Farm's Harvest Festival is a fall favorite in Connecticut! Step back in time and enjoy a beautiful day on the Farm! 

Historical Demonstrations:
Antique Tools, Make & Brake Engines, Open Hearth Cooking, Rope Making, Kettle Corn Popping

Livestock Encounters:
– Take a horse-drawn wagon ride through the pasture with a team of majestic Percherons
– Enjoy the farm’s own dairy cows and calves
– Watch our Romney Sheep get their fall shearing and buy beautiful yarns from last years fleece, and more.

Harvest Crafts to Bring Home:
Decorate a pumpkin, roll a beeswax candle, create a grapevine wreath, design an apple print bandana, make a gourd creature, and MORE!

Special Guest:
AWESOME RAINFOREST REPTILES at 2 p.m.*
Live Crocodiles, Alligators and Tortoises, Oh My! Have you ever wanted to meet and touch a live crocodile or alligator? Spend an unforgettable afternoon with dynamic conservation educator and herpetologist Michael Ralbovsky.

Michael travels across the country introducing students of all ages to the marvels and mysteries of ancient reptiles. He will introduce us to an awesome group of live crocodilians. Michael serves as a consultant for zoological parks across the country, and provides animals for television, working with shows on the Discovery Channel and the Animal Planet, including Jeff Corwin’s Animal Quest. Michael’s love and respect for reptiles are infectious – come and be amazed!

* If all seats fill, Michael will offer a second show at 3 p.m.
