Redding Land Trust Hike on Monday, January 21

Redding Land Trust 2 mile hike on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 21 at Stephenson Preserve in Bethel beginning at 1:00 pm.

This Monday, January 21st, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day honoring the late, great MLK, and we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to continue our newest tradition of being outside and enjoying nature.

We know, we know — why does the Redding Land Trust own a property in Bethel when Bethel has its own fantastic land trust? Well, thanks to Mary Anne Guitar's diligent work a few decades ago, before Bethel had started their own organization, the many acres of Stephenson Preserve were donated to RLT and are protected in perpetuity.

The Stephenson Preserve is located just past Putnam Park and its parking lot is located across from 73 Putnam Park Road in Bethel.

• If there’s snow on the ground, please bring snowshoes or wear yak tracks or other footwear that will protect your feet and keep you from slipping

• Poles are recommended

• The hike is on unless it's actively snowing or raining

• Due to the growing number of hikers on our Holiday Hikes, we ask that dogs be kept on a short leash for the duration of these hikes
