The beginning of the holiday season in Redding is marked by the Annual Mark Twain Library Juried Art Show. The Art Show is an annual fundraiser for the Library, now in its 48th year. Proceeds from this not-to-be-missed show provide necessary funding for the library’s many vital programs.
Despite the challenges that Covid-19 has created this year, we are excited to carefully present the beloved hanging Art Show inside the library as well as the debut of a Virtual Gallery wherein the artwork will all be available for viewing and buying online. Similarly, the Silent Auction will also be available online for bidding for the first time.
As in the past, we will present juried works by over 100 local and regional artists. The 2020 Juror is esteemed artist Tony D’Amico.
Our Library Gallery will be set up with all social distancing considerations to create a safe space for our visitors. The gallery is open to the public consistent with social distance guidelines only from December 6 until December 13, 2020.
All levels of sponsorship get exclusive preview access to the Library Gallery and the Silent Auction – in person – prior to the Premiere where they may buy and bid.

In the spirit of the season, artists generously donate a portion of the sale of their works to benefit the library. A highlight of the evening is the festive silent auction where lively bidding adds to the evening’s fun. All proceeds from the Silent Auction go towards supporting the Mark Twain Library.
48th Annual Mark Twain Library Art Show Events:
Friday Evening, Dec. 4th: Sponsors $1000 and above may view and buy in person. Silent Auction opens.
Saturday, Dec. 5th 11am-5pm: All Sponsors can visit in person by appointment.
Saturday, Dec. 5th 7pm: Art Show Premiere -Virtual Program-Open to ticket holders only.
Dec 6-13th: In person Library Gallery open to the public. We will be observing social distance guidelines.
