Where The Wild Things Run at Woodcock Nature Center on October 3

Run wild for Woodcock on Sunday, October 3 - 90% trails, 100% outdoor fun! 

Woodcock Nature Center welcomes runners, hikers and walkers of all ages at its annual Where the Wild Things Run 5K and Kids Fun Run.You can even become a fundraiser and promote your run to friends and family to increase your impact.

For several decades, this event has highlighted Woodcock’s nearly 5 miles of publicly accessible trails and raised money for the center’s educational programs. All proceeds support the nature center!

The popular 5K is 90% trail with a mix of groomed trails, rugged trails and narrow bridges/boardwalks. The terrain of the 5k highlights the diversity and beauty of the Woodcock property. A shorter 1K Kids Fun Run geared towards ages 6 and up is appropriate for walkers and runners of all ages.

Order of Events:

8:15 am - Kids Fun Run warm-up!

8:30 am - Kids Fun Run kick-off (15-20 min race)

9:00 am - 5K Kick-off (kids invited to cheer on the runners)

9:05 am - Kids crafts, activities and some music in and around the pavilion (playground will be open too!)

9:15 am - Woodcock Annual Turtle Race! Gather around to see which of the Woodcock turtles will win this year!

10:00 am (aprox. ) - 5K awards plus family fun in and around our pavilion continues through the completion of the 5K.

5K Prizes:

1st Prize:  $100 gift card to Outdoors Sports Center in Wilton
2nd Prize: $25 gift card from Ridgefield Running Company in Ridgefield
3rd Prize:  Swag bag of outdoor-themed goodies.

Fun Run racer giveaways include:

-$20 gift card to Deborah Ann's Sweet Shop in Ridgefield.
-Woodcock-themed swag.

*Only participants registered by September 15 are guaranteed a race t-shirt.*
