Calling all poets and poetry lovers! The Mark Twain Library is hosting a series of poetry seminars for middle schoolers. During these seminars, we will discuss the intersection of poetry and activism, read the works of trailblazing poets, understand helpful tools for writing and reciting poetry, as well as carve out time for students to craft their own poems. No prior experience is required to attend these workshops.
The program will meet on the following days (all Sundays): 10/2, 11/6, 12/4. You only need to register once to be registered for all 3 workshops. Registration is limited to 10 participants. We request that participants plan to attend all 3 workshops. In January, we will host a poetry reading to encourage students in the seminar (as well as anyone else who would like to participate) to share their work with a larger audience.
