Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes Bring “The New Jersey Sound” Back to the Ridgefield Playhouse on May 6

The Godfather of “the New Jersey Sound” returns to the Ridgefield Playhouse stage for a record 13th performance! 

Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes have become a staple in the New Jersey music scene having released twelve studio albums since 1976 and featuring a rotating group of members such as Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, and Steve Van Zandt.

The raucous, roots-tinged rock and blues band will take the stage of the Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 8pm as part of the Pepsi Rock Series Driven by North American Motor Car. 

Rolling Stone named “Hearts of Stone” as one of the “top 100 albums of the 70s and 80s.” With thousands of live performances around the globe, a legion of famously-dedicated and enthusiastic fans, and a vibrant legacy of classic songs including “Havin’ a Party,” “I Don’t Want to Go Home” and “Love on the Wrong Side of Town” which have become hits to their worldwide fan base, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes has remained one of the most loved bands from New Jersey. Southsidohnny and the Asbury Jukes have been a staple in New Jersey since 1975. With a true Jersey Shore sound, John Lyon cut his teeth in Asbury Park, New Jersey, among the likes of Max Weinberg, Steve Van Zandt, and Bruce Springsteen. In fact, Southside Johnny co-founded the Asbury Jukes band alongside Little Steven Van Zandt.

Southside Johnny and the Ashbury Jukes have flourished since their start in that shore scene, having released more than 30 albums, performed in thousands of venues around the globe, and counting over one hundred musicians as having been members. Renowned for their exuberant rhythm and blues feel, legendary horn section, and famously high-energy shows and no-holds-barred songs, they continue to expound their signature Jersey Shore sound wherever they travel.
