Connecticut begins to feel effects of Tropical Depression Florence

Connecticut is beginning to experience the effects of Tropical Depression Florence

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for our northern counties until 2 AM on Wednesday, September 19th.

At 4:30 pm, the radar indicated a few showers moving into Fairfield County and thunderstorm activity as close as northern NJ.

Showers and thunderstorms have the potential to drop a total of 1 to 2 inches of rain across the state.

Higher rainfall totals - closer to 3 inches - are possible along our NY and MA borders.

Impacts through tomorrow will generally be minor with a small stream and poor drainage area flooding.

CT DEMHS will continue to monitor this system.
