After More Than 10,000 Home Visits, Dee Strilowich To Stop Knocking

After 25 years and greeting about 10,600 Ridgefield and Redding residents, Dee Strilowich will discontinue her home visits at the end of August.

Dee Strilowich, the owner of Personal Touch Welcome, has announced that she will soon stop knocking on doors and greeting Ridgefield and Redding newbies. "The time seems right," says Dee.

Personal Touch Welcome, the brainchild of Dee Strilowich and her husband Joe, was born after the Welcome Wagon discontinued in-home visits in 1998. "My husband, Joe, and I decided the service was so important to have new families be introduced to our wonderful community and it’s small businesses that we decided to start our own greeting service, naming it Personal Touch Welcome," Dee explains.

Steve’s Bagels was the first business to join the Personal Touch Welcome basket of goodies.

For 20 years, Dee knocked on doors, welcoming newcomers in both Ridgefield and Redding while visits Joe handled all the behind-the-scenes duties. "He would join me out in the community to network," says Dee. Sadly, Dee's partner in business and life passed away in 2017.

Bringing commerce and community closer together is the core of Personal Touch Welcome. "Many of our small businesses have been in the welcome basket for my nearly 25 years, and some were in the basket before I began visits!" says Dee.

"I'm ready for a new journey," says Dee.

Are you interested in taking over the reins of Personal Touch Welcome? Dee says that she is open to selling Personal Touch Welcome if there is a community supporter who is interested in making in-home visits. You can email personaltouchwelcome@gmail.com.

From all of us at HamletHub, thank you to Dee and Joe for all you have done to make Ridgefield the special community it is. We love you!
