Calling Redding Dog Owners: License Fido Without Penalty Until August 1, 2020

Great news for Redding dog owners! You have until July 31st to license your dog this year!

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 7II

Extension of the Start Date for Imposition of a Late Fee for Obtaining Dog Licenses from July 1, 2020 to August 1, 2020. Section 22-338(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes is modified to extend the start date for the imposition of a late fee for obtaining this year’s annual dog license from July 1, 2020 to August 1, 2020.

All dogs over the age of 6 months must be licensed by the Town Clerk annually.

Information from Redding Town Clerk:

Licenses will not be issued without proof of current rabies vaccination on file. The rabies expiration date we have on file can be found on the paper license issued last year. If you cannot locate it, please email townclerk@townofreddingct.org or call 203-938-2377 to verify what we have on file for your dog. We do not need to see rabies or spay/neuter information if we already have it on file.

The license fee for a neutered/spayed dog is $8.00; the fee for an unaltered dog is $19.00. There is a $1.00 late fee per month after August 1, 2020. Pursuant to Executive Order of the Governor, additional time was granted to license dogs without penalty (see above).

New Dogs: When licensing a dog for the first time, please provide proof that the dog has been neutered or spayed, as well as a valid rabies certificate.
