Broadway is BACK! ACT of Connecticut's The Last Five Years

After 7 long months of their "extended intermission" ACT of Connecticut is BACK!

Here, Dan Levine, ACT of Connecticut's Artistic Director, outlines the many safety measures in place for theater-goers. The Last Five Years, a modern musical, opens on October 28. Purchase in-person and live stream tickets HERE.
The pandemic has literally closed the curtain on live entertainment around the world and theaters around the country (including Broadway) went dark in March. Many performing arts venues have made the very difficult decision not to reopen at all this season. Actors’ Equity Association (the union for all professional actors and stage managers) have banned all of its members from working at any union theater unless the union has approved a specific theater for reopening.

ACT of CT has spent the past four months working with the state of Connecticut and Actors’ Equity Association on their reopening/safety plan. Because of their commitment to the health and safety of staff, artists, and audience, ACT's reopening plan was approved by the union and ACT of CT is honored to be the first Equity regional theater in the country to be approved to reopen with a long-running indoor musical. THE LAST FIVE YEARS (opening Oct 28) is the first musical back after seven months of what ACT refers to as their “extended intermission”.

Ridgefield is thrilled to have ACT of CT reopening and ticket sales for the show certainly reflect this fact! For THE LAST FIVE YEARS, fifty audience members will be allowed to watch the show live in person. But not to worry! ACT of CT has acquired special permission to livestream this gorgeous production each and every night! Tickets for both “in-person” and “livestream” are available at actofct.org

Check out this excellent video (created by Artistic Director Daniel C. Levine) which explains ACT of CT’s reopening plan and what to expect when returning to the theater for the first time!
