Calling All Redding Dog Owners: June is Dog Licensing Month!

June is Dog Licensing Month

Pursuant to CT General Statute Sec. 22-338, all dogs over the age of 6 months must be licensed by the Redding Town Clerk annually on or before June 30th for the period of July 1st through June 30th.

Licenses will not be issued without proof of current rabies vaccination on file. The rabies expiration date we have on file can be found on the paper license issued last year.  If you cannot locate it, please email townclerk@townofreddingct.org or call 203-938-2377 to verify what is on file for your dog. We do not need to see rabies or spay/neuter information if we already have it on file.

The license fee for a neutered/spayed dog is $8.00; the fee for an unaltered dog is $19.00.  A $1.00 late fee per month will be assessed after July 1, 2021.

New Dogs:  When licensing a dog for the first time, please provide proof that the dog has been neutered or spayed, as well as a valid rabies certificate. Click here for Dog License Application.

To license your dog (or dogs) by mail, send a check for the correct fee, current rabies certificate and proof of spay/neuter, if applicable, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to:

Redding Town Clerk
P.O. Box 1028
Redding Center, CT 06875-1028

To license your dog (or dogs) in person, please call Town Clerk’s office (203-938-2377) for an appointment to pick up the license.

If you no longer have your dog or have moved out of town, please email townclerk@townofreddingct.org so we can update our records.

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these trying times.  Let’s also keep our dogs safe and healthy by updating their rabies vaccinations and licensing them with the town.
