Eversource sends storm preparedness message to Connecticut residents

Today, Eversource sent an important storm preparedness message to Connecticut residents as a significant winter storm is forecasted to impact our area tomorrow evening through early Saturday.

Please read the message from Eversource regarding the forecasted storm below.

We're tracking and preparing for a significant storm across New England Thursday night (December 22) Friday and early Saturday, but it's expected to produce heavy rain and damaging winds with gusts as high as 50 to 60 miles per hour in coastal areas.

High winds may be sustained throughout the storm. These can topple trees and power lines and cause multi-day power outages.
Unfortunately, this storm will coincide with the beginning of the holiday weekend. We know how impactful it would be to lose power during a holiday.

To prepare we are pre-staging crews and equipment throughout the region to ensure.

We're ready to quickly and safely respond to any outages that may occur.

We urge you to charge devices in advance of the storm and stay away from any down wires you see.
Download the free eversource mobile app in the app store or Google Play to easily report or check an outage and view the outage map.

Thank you and stay safe.
