Acclaimed Violinist Performs with the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra!

The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra holds its next concert on Saturday, December 1st at 8:00 PM. Join the orchestra for Love Letter – an evening of fabulous music and outstanding performances by the superb musicians of the RSO, led by Music Director Yuga Cohler, and featuring award-winning violinist Tessa Lark. Lark joins the RSO as soloist to perform a spectacular and spirited piece entitled Love Letter, written for her by composer Michael Thurber.

Lark, Silver Medalist in the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, recipient of a 2018 Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship and a 2016 Avery Fisher Career Grant, and winner of the 2012 Naumburg International Violin Competition, is one of the most captivating artistic voices of our time. She has consistently been praised by critics and audiences for her astounding range of sounds, technical agility, and musical elegance. A budding superstar in the classical realm, she is also a highly acclaimed fiddler in the tradition of her native Kentucky, delighting audiences with programming that includes Appalachian and bluegrass music and inspiring composers to write for her. Ms. Lark has soloed with dozens of U.S. orchestras since making her concerto debut with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra at age sixteen.

Ms. Lark’s recent and upcoming concert highlights include debuts with the Seattle Symphony, the Buffalo Philharmonic, the Albany (NY) Symphony Orchestra, the Louisville Orchestra, the Evansville, Binghamton and South Carolina philharmonics, the Atlantic Classical Orchestra, CityMusic Cleveland, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, and the Knoxville, Eastern Connecticut, Williamsburg and Ridgefield symphony orchestras. Lark is a graduate of New England Conservatory with an Artist Diploma from The Juilliard School.

The December 1st concert, to be held at the Anne S. Richardson Auditorium at Ridgefield High School, also includes Tchaikovsky’s beautiful, dramatic and eminently recognizable Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture, as well as Brahms’ radiant, pastoral and ultimately joyful Symphony No. 2.

Tickets can be purchased online at ridgefieldsymphony.org or by calling the RSO Box Office at (203) 438-3889.
