Redding Resident and RVNA Physical Therapist Honored for 10 Years at Agency

Meet RVNA In-Home Physical Therapist, Andrea Wexler

Each holiday season, RVNA recognizes and honors employees for their length of service and commitment to our agency. This year, Andrea Wexler, PT celebrates her 10 year anniversary.

Andrea has devoted her life’s work to helping others. And we think that’s pretty special.

As an in-home physical therapist, Andrea’s mission is to get patients back on the road to independence. And that is exactly what she does - and has done for RVNA for a decade.

Take a few minutes to meet Andrea Wexler!

Where did you grow up and where do you live now?
I grew up in MA, went to school in CT and NY, and now live in Redding, CT with my husband and 2 of my 3 children.

How long have you been at RVNA?
I can’t believe it, but it’s been 10 years.

What brought you here?
After working many years in SNF’s (Skilled Nursing Facilities) in NY, we moved to CT and I decided I wanted to work with people in their homes.

Describe your role at RVNA?
I am a home care physical therapist.

What is your favorite part of your job?
I love being part of someone’s path back to independence. Seeing a patient progress is so rewarding.

When did you realize you wanted to be a physical therapist?
When I was in high school, I spent a day with my cousin who was a P.T. in Boston. She worked with people with spinal cord injuries, and I remember thinking how amazing it would be to help someone like that regain their mobility.

What do you love to do when you’re not working?
I love spending time outdoors, especially hiking and gardening.

What is your hidden talent?
Horseback riding (although it’s been a while!).

What would you do if you won the lottery?
Pay off the kids’ college tuition! Then donate to some worthy causes, and retire to a home on the ocean.

Do you have a favorite RVNA moment or story?
I am always so impressed with all the wonderful and talented people here at RVNA. I feel so lucky to be able to work with and learn from them!
