Where did you grow up and where do you live now?

I was born in New York and moved to New Fairfield, CT at the age of six. I currently reside in Newtown, CT.

What is your role at RVNA?

I am the Home Health Aide Supervisor for HomeCare by RVNA. I work with our caregivers to ensure our clients receive quality home care services 24/7 to remain in the comfort and safety of their own homes.

How long have you been at RVNA?

I started with the agency in July of 2018.

When brought you here?

RVNA has a wonderful reputation, I feel so fortunate to be part of the agency! I truly enjoy working in the community with clients and caregivers.

How/when did you decide to become a nurse and go into healthcare?

Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my grandmother. She taught me how to play the piano, and she was a great family historian; I have very fond memories of our time together. I had originally planned on a career in social work. However, my mother and sister worked in health care and I quickly followed in their footsteps. I have always enjoyed working with seniors and I attribute this to the time that I spent with my grandmother.

What is your favorite part of your job?

Visiting our clients and caregivers in the home and seeing the wonderful bonds they develop.

What do you love to do when you’re not working?

I spend time with my family, especially with my five-year-old grandson; he keeps me hopping! When I am not with my family, I really enjoy going to local venues to listen to live music. I also spend a lot of time outdoors; I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and swimming. Any day outside is an awesome day.

What is your hidden talent?

I enjoy drawing and painting with watercolors. I’d like to say singing, however, I’ve been advised to keep this “talent” hidden. I do enjoy playing the piano and hope to devote more time in the future to developing this “talent.”

What would you do if you won the lottery?

After helping my family to ensure financial security, I would most likely start a non-profit to help others. There is always a need and I would love the opportunity to contribute and make a difference in the lives of others. (I’d also take singing lessons!)

Do you have a favorite RVNA moment or story?

I have several stories to retell. One question I ask of our clients once we have developed a relationship is, “how did you meet your spouse?”. Our clients light up when retelling their stories of love and marriage. It’s heartwarming and it takes the client back to a beautiful memory and time in their life.

What’s your favorite book? Movie? .. of all time?

A favorite book is Kite Runner; a very powerful and thought-provoking story. On a much lighter note, my favorite movie is Moonstruck; I can recite many of the lines. Fortunately or unfortunately, these lines — regardless of how old they are — still make me laugh.

If you have a band, what would it be called?

The Piano Girl and her Posse.

If you could only eat one food for a year, what would it be?

Tuna Salad!
