There's still time to register your 4th-8th grade girls for the Ms President US program before our 2019-2020 session starts this Friday, Oct 4th!
Ms President US is a civic leadership program for girls in 4th to 8th grades that introduces the participants to female leaders at all levels of government, and helps the girls develop their own leadership skills (including public speaking and debate). Each session includes fun and lively interactive activities and is facilitated by high school girls who serve as Mentors.
The sessions are held on select Fridays from 4:15-5:45pm at the Ridgefield Library. The program culminates with an election for "Ms President US" of each town which is held at the Ridgefield Playhouse. Enrolled girls can choose to run for president or support another girl's campaign. There's also a really great field trip to the CT State Capitol in March.
The program is non-partisan, non-profit, community-based, and Girl Scout badge eligible.
