Ethan Allen Prep Students on Par in Florida, Learn More About their Journey

Since March 1, Ethan Allen Preparatory (EAP) students have been in Orlando, Florida for a pre-season trip that includes a rigorous day packed with academics, golf practice, and tournament play.

A typical day begins sharply at 7:00 am with a workout conducted by Golf Performance Center (GPC) Performance Coaches. Academics follow from 9am to noon.

Because of the online curriculum through K12 Private Academy, traveling from Connecticut to Florida results in no changes to their academics,” The student-athletes receive online support from EAP academic coaches in Connecticut. Present with the students in Florida is the Director of EAP, Charlie Wampfler who aids in their remote learning.

Student-athletes spend the afternoon on the course, honing their golf skills with GPC’s expert coaches.

This weekend, student-athletes are competing in the Alaqua Junior Open, their second pre-season tournament. Last weekend, student-athletes competed in the Disney Spring Break Junior Open.

“We are proud of Arabella Lopez who placed 2nd in the U13 Division at the Disney Spring Break Junior Open in Orlando,” says Dennis Hillman, Director of Instruction at GPC.

COVID-19 safety precautions are a top priority for attendees who have limited interaction with the public. All coaches and staff were tested before leaving Connecticut as well as halfway through the trip.
