Redding residents who are 45 and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. A pre-registration form can be found here. We also ask residents in the 35-44 age group to pre-register so we can expedite the process when eligibility expands.
Once pre-registered and eligible residents will be contacted in the timestamp order in which they signed up. Volunteer schedulers reach out to those on the list either by email or phone to set up an appointment. An appointment is required. We only schedule appointments on the week of the clinic to make sure we have received the necessary quantity of vaccine from the state to administer to those we have scheduled. Redding clinics are held at the Redding Community Center.
We continue to encourage those who are eligible to sign up for all vaccination options available, including registering in VAMS, Stamford Health, Hartford Health Care, Nuvance (Danbury Hospital), Yale New Haven Health, CVS, Stop & Shop and Walgreens. They each use their own scheduling system and many residents have successfully received appointments by signing up. A Vaccine Appointment Assist Line can also be called seven days a week 8am-8pm at 877-918-2224.
All capacity limits have been eliminated from the following businesses, while face coverings and social distancing continue to be required:
• Restaurants (8-person per table capacity, tables remain distanced, and the 11pm closing time for dining rooms continues)
• Retail
• Libraries
• Indoor recreation (excludes theaters, 50% capacity continues)
• Gym & Fitness Centers
• Museums, Aquariums, and Zoos
• Offices
• Houses of Worship
Gathering sizes have been revised to the following amounts:
• Social and recreational gatherings at private residences – 25 indoors/100 outdoors
• Social and recreational gatherings at commercial venues – 100 indoors/200 outdoors
