Redding resident and Eagle Scout Clara Blackwell is Featured Speaker at Women's Leadership Luncheon

On Wednesday afternoon, the Women In Leadership Luncheon took place at the Country Club of New Canaan.

The annual event shines a bright light on the Connecticut Yankee Council-Boy Scouts of America’s mission to bring youth development programs to more girls and young women in our community.

The event's featured speaker was Redding resident Clara Blackwell who is a founding member of Scouts BSA Troop 306 in Redding. Blackwell defied all odds by achieving Eagle Scout status and paved the way for young girls eager to join BSA to do the same! Clara Blackwell is headed to Dickinson College where she received a Presidential Scholarship!

According to Connecticut Yankee Council, “The Women In Leadership Lunch shines a bright light on the Connecticut Yankee Council-Boy Scouts of America’s mission to bring our premier youth development program to more girls and young women in our community.”

The celebratory event honored local women for their extraordinary leadership; Allison Stockel, Executive Director of The Ridgefield Playhouse, and Tucker Murphy, former Executive Director of New Canaan Chamber of Commerce and current Administrative Officer for the Town of New Canaan.
