Coming to The Palace Danbury on Sunday, February 17.  See all 15 Oscar® Nominated Short Films in one spectacular and exclusive theatrical release.

The Academy Award nominated short films are often the most creative and surprising films of any kind. However, they are not regularly shown in theaters. This year film buffs can watch the full slate of nominees in one marathon day!

AND THE NOMINEES ARE...

1:00 PM: Begin the day begins with the fanciful world of animation. The Academy’s choices in this category embrace the art of storytelling while being visually impressive. And the nominees are: “Bao,” “Late Afternoon,” “Animal Behaviour,” “Weekends,” “One Small Step.”

3:00 PM: The live action shorts will be shown. This category features five notably diverse films from around the world. And the nominees are: “Madre” from Spain, “Fauve” from Canada, “Marguerite” from Canada, “Detainment” from Ireland, and “Skin” from the USA.

6:00 PM: Documentaries finish the day off. Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster! Viewers will be inspired by women from rural India and chilled watching footage of a1939 Nazi rally that took place at Madison Square Garden. And the nominees are: “Black Sheep,” “End Game, Lifeboat,“A Night at the Garden,” “PERIOD. END OF SENTENCE.”

PREDICT THE WINNERS AND WIN!

Movies goers at The Palace are invited to guess the winners. Pick up a ballot in the lobby and check off your favorite film. All those who correctly predict the Academy Award winners (announced on February 24) will be entered into a drawing for future tickets to The Palace.

This event will take place on Sunday February 17, 2019 from 1:00 PM- 9:00 PM. General Admission. $15 per session. Tickets may be purchased in advance online at www.thepalacedanbury.com, by phone at 203-794-9944, and at the Box Office starting one hour before showtime.
