The New York Times is Star Struck by an Exhibit at The Aldrich

The New York Times is star-struck. Frank Stella star-struck.  The majestic constellations are front and center in downtown Ridgefield, marveled at by the many residents who walk our picturesque Main Street.

The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum’s current exhibit, “Frank Stella’s Stars, A Survey” was reviewed by New York Times writer Jason Farago who calls it a “quiet but cheering exhibition” “... to an art critic’s eye Frank Stella’s Stars is a testimony to an artist, now 84, in perpetual evolution. Its focus on the star motif ends up reaffirming the restlessness of this painter’s progress and his underappreciated engagement with new technologies of design, fabrication and display,” writes Farago.

Curated by Richard Klein, Exhibitions Director, and Amy Smith-Stewart, Senior Curator Frank Stella’s Stars is on view both in the galleries and the Museum’s Sculpture Garden until May 9, 2021, and includes a 150-page hardbound book featuring essays by the exhibition's curators.
