Shaban Endorced by State Representative in the 135th Assembly District

REDDING, CT – Last week the Independent Party of Connecticut endorsed John Shaban as their candidate for State Representative in the 135th Assembly District (Easton, Redding and Weston).  He will now be both the Republican and Independent Party candidate this Election Day, November 3, 2020, as he was when he was thrice elected State Rep starting in 2010, and in his 2016 campaign for US Congress.

“The Independent Party represents just that -- independent thinking” Shaban posted. “I am grateful that they have again recognized my efforts to put people and good policy ahead of partisan politics.”  Shaban opined that “unlike some fringe political ‘caucuses’ on the far left or right, the Independent Party is the third largest political party in Connecticut and has a long record of nominating fiscally responsible, socially moderate candidates from both major parties, and/or with no party affiliation.”

Shaban served as State Representative for 135th District for three terms from 2011 to 2017, and did not run for a fourth term, opting instead to run for US Congress against Jim Himes.  “During my six years in Hartford I advanced balanced ideas and constructive policies, regardless of a republican or democratic label,” said Shaban, “and I will be proud to do so again.”
