November 3 Election Information for Redding Voters

In-person

* Who: All Registered Voters of Redding
-Any elector voting in person shall bring an ID showing their name and current address.
-If your ID does not show your current address you must also bring proof of residency such as a utility bill, government document, government check, paycheck or bank statement.

* What: To Vote for President, Representative in Congress, State Senator, and State Representative, and Registrar of Voters

* When: November 3, 2020 from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

* Where:  Gymnasium at the Redding Community Center, 37 Lonetown Road, Redding

  • Doors open promptly at 6:00 a.m.  There will be no early admittance to the building.
  • All voters will be directed to go into the door to the gym – it is the first door on the right as you are looking at the Community Center.
  • There is a special handicapped-accessible entrance to the gym. However, there is limited space for parking, so please call 203-460-0261 ahead of time ahead for parking information.
  • Masks are required in the polling place and social distancing must be maintained (six feet away from the person in front of you in line) at all times.

ELECTION DAY REGISTRATION and VOTING

* Who: Any person who is not currently registered as a voter in Redding

  • Any Redding resident not currently registered to vote can register on Election Day.
  • You must show proof of citizenship by presenting a birth certificate, passport or social security card.
  • You must also bring an ID showing your name and current address. If your ID does not show your current address you must bring proof of residency such as a utility bill, government document, government check, paycheck or bank statement.
  • If you have confirmed you are not registered to vote and want to register on Election Day, please call 203-928-5012 ahead to make an appointment, if possible. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are trying to limit the number of people in Town Hall at one time.
  • Once you are registered to vote, you will be able to cast your vote at Town Hall.

* Where: Redding Town Hall, 100 Hill Road, Redding

  • There will be signs directing you to the last door at the front of Town Hall, and then into the hearing room.  A handicapped accessible entrance is available for those in need.  Call the Registrar of Voters at 203-938-5012 to use this entrance.

* When: November 3, 2020 – 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.   

REMINDERS RE VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

  • The last day to apply for and receive an absentee ballot in person is Monday, November 2, 2020.
  • Call the Town Clerk at 203-938-2377 to schedule an appointment between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
  • ALL voted absentee ballots must be received by the Town Clerk no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.  The official ballot box will be locked promptly at 8:00 p.m. and no more ballots will be accepted. -If you have received an absentee ballot but have not returned it, you may vote in person on Election Day at the Redding Community Center.  If possible, drop your unused absentee ballot set in the ballot box with a note on it “Voting in Person”.
  • DO NOT bring your absentee ballot or anyone else’s to the Community Center, voted or unvoted.  Pollworkers are not allowed to accept your absentee ballot from you.
