Important Election Day Information for Redding Voters

A Municipal Election will be held in the Town of Redding on November 2, 2021.

Voting will be held in person at the Redding Community Center, 37 Lonetown Road, Redding from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.  A valid ID must be presented at the polls. Absentee ballots are available.

Absentee balloting is available for those individuals who cannot vote in person for one of the following reasons:  active service in the armed forces; absence from town during all voting hours; physical disability; illness; religious tenets, or COVID-19.*

*Pursuant to House Bill 1202 of the June Special Session 2021, COVID-19 may be used as a valid reason for requesting a ballot for any Primary, Election or Referendum held before November 3, 2021.

An application must first be completed, and then the ballot will be issued to the applicant in person or mailed to the address indicated on the application.  A ballot cannot be issued in-person to anyone other than the applicant.

 A voter can apply in person for an absentee ballot at the Town Clerk’s Office and vote at that time.  An Application for Absentee Ballot may also be mailed to an applicant upon request, or can be downloaded – click here for application in English; click here for application in Spanish. Completed applications can be deposited in the ballot box located on the porch of Town Hall or can be mailed to the Town Clerk at P.O. Box 1028, Redding Center, CT 06875-1028.

Upon receipt of the completed application, your absentee ballot will be mailed to you.

If you are not already registered to vote, you can complete a registration form at the Town Clerk’s Office, click here to download the form, or register online at https://voterregistration.ct.gov/

Ballots must be received by the Town Clerk no later than 8:00 p.m. on November 2.

Completed absentee ballots may be mailed to the Town Clerk’s Office, or deposited in the ballot drop box located on the porch of Town Hall, or hand-delivered to the Town Clerk during business hours.  The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and from 8:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday; all town offices are closed on Friday.
