August 9 Primary Information for Redding Voters

AUGUST 9, 2022 PRIMARIES

On August 9, 2022, two party primaries will be held in Redding as follows: The Democratic Party will hold a primary for the offices of Secretary of the State and Treasurer. The Republican Party will hold a primary for the offices of United States Senator, Congressional District #4 and Secretary of the State. Only electors enrolled in one of the parties holding a primary are allowed to vote.  Voting will be held at the Redding Community Center, 37 Lonetown Road, Redding, CT from 6:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Absentee ballots will be available from the Town Clerk starting Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Apply for an Absentee Ballot for Primary or Election

Absentee balloting is available for those individuals who cannot vote in person for one of the following reasons:  active service in the armed forces; absence from town; sickness; physical disability; or religious tenets.

An applicant must complete an Application for Absentee Ballot (click here) and drop off or mail to the Town Clerk.  Ballots will be can issued in person to the voter at Town Hall or mailed to voter at the address indicated on application. Voted ballots can be deposited in the Ballot Drop Box located on the porch of Town Hall or mailed back to the Town Clerk in the envelope provided with the ballot set, but must be received no later than 8:00 p.m. on August 9, 2022.
