Plane Crashes After Taking Off from Danbury Airport

The Connecticut Post reports that one dead body was recovered near Quogue, NY, after a plane that took off out of the Waterbury-Oxford Airport and made a stop at Danbury Municipal Airport crashed Saturday off the Long Island coast in the Hamptons. 

According to multiple media sources, late yesterday morning, October 13, personnel at the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Long Island Sound were told by Southampton police that a twin-engine Piper PA-34 crashed into the water about 1 mile south of Quogue. Crews found debris and an oil sheen on the water near the reported crash site.

The search continues for two additional passengers. The identity of the deceased passenger has not been revealed.
