Redding Police report construction worker dies from injuries caused by a fallen heavy steel pipe

On Thursday, July 29 at approximately 5:00 PM the Redding Police Department, Fire and EMS were dispatched to a residence off Putnam Park Road (Rt.107) for a reported head injury to a construction worker. The injury was caused by a fallen heavy steel pipe.
 
The injured worker was found laying on the ground unresponsive and bleeding from the head.
 
The injured worker was transported to Danbury Hospital by the Redding Ridge Ambulance and Bethel Paramedic where he subsequently died from his injuries.
 
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration ( OHSA ) was contacted and sent an investigator to the scene.
 
At this time OHSA took over the investigation and the Redding Police Department will be assisting.
