Relay for Life Torch Stops at Thomas Elliott’s Guitar Studio

Relay For Life of Ridgefield is displaying the Olympic Relay Torch outside the Guitar Studio of Thomas Elliot 163 High Ridge Road to recognize his commitment to the Ridgefield Relay since its inception.  Through these many years Tom has embodied the mission “celebrate-remember-fight back” to cancer.  His involvement began with fundraising through a Team the “ Wolfpit Running Club”.

In the ensuing years, Tom played the Highland Bagpipes for the opening ceremonies.

Now every year, RFL looks forward to hearing the sweet and melodic sounds of Tom’s Bagpipes for the Luminaria Ceremony. Tom’s music sets the tone and transforms the venue for the Ceremony.

The Luminaria Ceremony is a ceremony of remembrance and hope. It is a way to honor survivors and those who have lost the battle to cancer. It is a time to grieve for those we have lost, to reflect on our own or loved ones cancer experience, and to find hope that tomorrow holds the promise of a cancer-free world.  Tom states “This year I will be personally honoring my friend, Debbie Mandelbaum”.

Join Tom to celebrate-remember-fight back!
