ARTalk: Behind the Scenes at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking

On Sunday, March 10th, at 2 pm, Anthony Kirk, Artistic Director, and renowned Master Printer for the Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP), the only nonprofit organization between New York City and Boston solely dedicated to the art of the print, including printmaking, papermaking, book arts, digital processes and related disciplines, will tell us more about CCP and also talk about some of the well-known American artists he has worked with as a Master Printer. Kirk is formerly head of the etching department at Tyler Graphics and has collaborated with numerous artists. This program is part of the ARTalk Series and will take place at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum.

The Center for Contemporary Printmaking is a non-profit organization dedicated to the art of the print: intaglio, lithography, monotype, silkscreen, woodblock printing, paper works, book arts, and digital arts.  CCP is a unique cultural resource, a place to discover, to experiment, to learn. The entire spectrum of printmaking arts is here to be explored through workshops, edition printing with master printers, exhibitions, community programs, and an Artist-in-Residence Program.

CCP is located in an historic landmark 19th century stone carriage house, an architectural gem transformed into an important and dynamic printmaking facility. It is fully equipped to accommodate all printmaking methods. Also located in the Carriage House is the Grace Ross Shanley Gallery, which is host to many intriguing exhibitions.  The Helen Frankenthaler Printmaking Cottage located to the rear of the Carriage House is the home of the Artist-in-Residence Program. The cottage is fully equipped for printing and for overnight or long-term guests.

The ARTalk series is co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Library and the Ridgefield Guild of Artists
