Laurel Ridge Health Care CenterGoes to the Dogs

On September 9th, Laurel Ridge Health Care Center hosted its Annual Dog Show as part of its therapeutic recreation program.  Dogs of all shapes and sizes entered the contest to show off their tricks and to demonstrate their obedience, friendliness and overall congeniality to residents and their guests.  Thomas O’Connor was the presiding dog show judge who awarded participants in various categories.  Pet therapy has become a staple at Laurel Ridge and is an integral part of the lives of residents who live there.  Residents and dog owners alike look forward to the annual show as the benefits are clear, as see pictured here with Sophie, a miniature schnauzer who is vision-impaired, and Mildred Lieberman, resident.  For more information, please contact Thora Perkins at Laurel Ridge at 203-438-8226.
