On Saturday, June 29 at 2:30 p.m., about 4 fire trucks raced up East Pembroke Road with their sirens going. St. Nicholas Catholic Church at 13 Pembroke Rd, Danbury was on fire. East Pembroke Road was closed at Stacey Road and traffic had to be re-routed. This Byzantine Catholic Church with its beautiful onion dome holds Sunday Mass in the morning. It is yet to be known the extent of the damage.
