Last night at The Ridgefield Playhouse, prior to the performance of rock legend "Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes", WWII Vets were honored when Senator Richard Blumenthal and Kara Sundlun, co-host of Better Connecticut, took the Playhouse stage. "My father was a WWII Vet," said Sundlun. Bruce Sundlun, former Governor of Rhode Island, was USAAF Command Pilot during WWII.
Sundlun has partnered with the WWII Foundation to produce a documentary about her dad, a B-17 Bomber Pilot whose courageous spirit kept him alive during WWII. Bruce Sundlun is the recipient of both the Distinguished Flying Cross and Purple Heart.
All proceeds of the Meet & Greet portion of last night's show were donated to the WWII Foundation, a non-profit organization that honors Vets through the visual arts.
