Interstate 84 Eastbound At New York/CT Border To Close for Bridge Replacement October 19 - 20

The New York State Department of Transportation is replacing two bridges carrying Interstate 84 eastbound and westbound over Dingle Ridge Road in the Town of Southeast, Putnam County. The work is being accelerated to minimize traffic impacts, but will require the interstate to be closed in that area during two weekends.

The I-84 eastbound closure is scheduled for October 19-20. On these dates I-84 be closed at Exit 20 in the Town of Southeast in NY. Traffic will be detoured onto Route 6 in NY and returned to I-84 at Exit 1 in the Town of Danbury, CT. Lane closures and sign work will occur starting at 11AM Saturday. I-84 eastbound will be fully closed at 5 PM and is expected to reopen in the early afternoon on Sunday.

The I-684 and I-84 intersection will experience heavy delays during this time period and should be avoided.
