Written by Middle School Dean of Students, Sarah Rand
Respectful, funny, and kind...these are but a few of the adjectives that teachers and classmates use to describe October's 7th grade Student of the Month. This student is thoughtful and observant, inquisitive and compassionate. This student is also very bright - in wardrobe, spirit, and intellect. With an eagerness to learn and delve deeper into subject matter, this student is focused and conscientious.
This student's teachers share: He is a friendly and cooperative member of our class, demonstrating all of the qualities of a real leader - creativity, passion, understanding, and great listening skills. This student's classroom demeanor is calm and mature. I always look forward to his contributions to class discussions because of their depth and insight. This student has great instincts and a natural confidence, always coming up with great ideas and cooperating well with classmates. He always seems to be thinking deeply about the world and people around him. He understands how to treat people and bravely speaks up in defense of those who have a difficult time speaking up for themselves. He also has a brave palette, impressing his advisory with his ability to pour hot sauce on any food, withstanding the extreme "heat."
This student makes connections - making witty and clever references to literature and television, from The Outsiders to The Office. He often discovers the common thread that runs through the content of his classes, personal interests and experiences, and observations of the world around him.
We are very pleased to recognize Noah Slager as October's 7th grade Student of the Month!
