Presents Career Strategies for Visual Artists "Pricing and Presenting Your Artwork"

Connecticut visual artists are invited to attend a career development workshop on "Pricing & Presenting Your Artwork" as part of the Make.Art.Work., Career Strategies for Visual Artists program.

The evening workshop will take place from 6-8:30pm at each of the following three venues:

  • University of New Haven: Monday, January 6;
  • The Mark Twain House & Museum: Monday, January 13
  • Fairfield University: Wednesday, January 15.

This workshop will be led by Silvermine Arts Center's Gallery Director, Jeffrey Mueller. Mr. Mueller will give artists the opportunity to explore essential business skills by walking artists through the process of pricing and presenting work, in a step-by-step method that demystifies these often challenging subjects. Participants will learn the necessary questions to consider that are essential components to their success as self-employed artists. A variety of financial formulas will also be introduced which can help artists price their work. Make.Art.Work. Project Manager Jeannie Thomma will wrap up the evening's workshop with a concise look at how to presenting yourself on paper and develop effective Artist Statement's & resumes.

This workshop is part of a professional development series designed to support visual artists throughout Connecticut who are actively showing and selling artwork in pursuit of a professional career as an artist. The program has received very positive feedback from participants. Here's what artists who attended Make.Art.Work's Fall program had to say:

"Make.Art.Work really did it for me. I have sold more paintings since beginning the workshops than I had sold in the previous year! Excellent presenters helped motivate and inform us to succeed as artists." ~Katherine

"I grew more confident about discussing and pricing my work. I have sold quite a few pieces since attending the workshops." ~Lori

Artists may register for the "Pricing & Presenting Your Artwork" workshop online and sessions fee is only $28. Artists may also choose to register as a Cohort member and attend all remaining 6 workshops, 2 group coaching sessions and receive a workbook. Registration for the full Cohort program is $169.
