My Favorite Five of Ridgefield series continues with Susie Buckley.
Although not originally from Connecticut, Susie embraces life in Ridgefield. She participates in many organizations ~ the schools, the arts, non-profits ~ and can often be seen around town with her dog, Rusty, and her camera.
She is a wife, mother, trained chef (this equates to a simply, fabulous home cook), chief dog walker, yoga practitioner, former Brooklynite and Coney Island lover and much, much more. Personally, I am proud to call her a friend. Additionally, she is a fabulous photographer and artist. We often use her photos on HamletHub, and she was awarded Best in Show at the First "Chairish" Ridgefield/Summerfest for her Maurice Sendak-inspired chair.
A little secret you may not know about Susie: her family participated in The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum's 2010 Draw On! They invited Tape Artists into their home to create spontaneous, temporary tape drawings as part of the Draw On! festivities. These drawings were documented and eventually removed. The used tape was then turned into spheres and exhibited at The Aldrich as another facet of Draw On! Please click HERE to learn more about Draw On! 2010 and see the tape drawings in Susie's home.

About Susie: Fourteen years ago, my family came to Connecticut due to my husband's job change. We looked at several of the surrounding towns. We came to Ridgefield on a cold day in November, when there was a light snow falling; and we stopped for lunch on Main Street. It was love at first sight! There was something magical about the beautiful old houses and the tree lined streets of Ridgefield. We knew it would be a great place to raise our kids.
