New Italian Restaurant, Barolo, Opens in New Canaan

Editor's note: Raffaele Gallo, owner of Gallo Ristorante in Ridgefield, is also one of the owners of Barolo in New Canaan. 

On Tuesday night, friend & family and press were invited to the soft opening of Barolo, a new Italian restaurant in downtown New Canaan.

Barolo is a sexy but classy restaurant with an open view kitchen visible from the dining room, a cozy VIP table that is perfect for special occasions, a well-lit bar, and an antipasti bar that's perfect for snacks, pizza, drinks, and all late night cravings.

This newcomer to New Canaan will feature cuisine from Italy's Piedmont region, so without getting into a whole thing here, you can expect lots of exquisite pasta dishes but lots of seafood and pork too.

The soft opening was primarily for friends & family that included a press preview in the bar area with aged meats and cheeses, pizza, and a few appetizers. And oh yeah, plenty of cocktails, beer, and wine!
