When a performer who is electrifying on his own joins forces with an equally awesome artist, it's explosive! Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band and Robert Randolph & The Family Band -- two of today's most acclaimed guitarists -- will perform at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, June 15, at 8 p.m. Five-time Grammy nominated Kenny Wayne Shepherd's latest album Goin' Home, his highest-ever charting album, just debuted on the Billboard 200 #25 this week. It's also his seventh album to debut at #1 on the Billboard Blues chart -- the first time this has ever happened! This blues-pop crossover artist has sold millions of albums worldwide and earned two Billboard Music Awards among others and is widely considered to be one of the best blues/rock guitarists alive. Robert Randolph & The Family Band (RR&FB)'s new album, Lickety Split, features guest appearances by Trombone Shorty and Carlos Santana. His Colorblind album (2006) produced the big hit "Ain't Nothing Wrong With That". President of Blue Note Records, Don Was, says that the pedal steel virtuoso Robert Randolph is an "American Original" who has "mastered what is, arguably, the most complex instrument in the world and developed a unique voice that is equal parts street-corner church and Bonnaroo." Randolph is on Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" list.
