ROAR is proud to announce that two local food establishments will be providing food and snacks at the 8th Annual Paws for the Cause Walk on Sunday October 5th.
Walk participants will be treated to lunch courtesy of Genoa Deli, an establishment in Ridgefield for 32 years. Owner Della D'Arcangelo, along with her son Louie, wanted to give back to our community in return for the generous support they received from a fundraiser helping her husband Rocco in his fight against brain cancer. Genoa will be the caterer for the event providing a wonderful lunch for all to enjoy (including their famous macaroni and cheese!).
Another town favorite, Carvel Ice Cream, will be donating special ice cream treats for both pets AND people. Owner Rich Sica is a long-time ROAR supporter. Helping to sponsor the Walk’s newest addition, the Doggie Talent Show, the grand prize winner will have the honor of being a Celebrity Scooper for a day at Carvel. The winner gets to create their very own flavor and will be featured as the “Celebrity Scooper” who will serve ice cream to friends, customers and family on a date of their choice. As Carvel has done with other non-profits, they will donate a percentage of the Celebrity Scooper sales to ROAR. Carvel also sells ice cream for dogs too!!
