Over 230 people represented Fairfield County Bank’s team, “Strength in Numbers” at the Danbury Women’s Center’s 8th annual SafeWalk. The team was made up of Fairfield County Bank employees, their family, friends, and members of the Ridgefield High School football team. $19,000 was raised as a result of their hard work and dedication; the most ever by a single team in the event’s history.
The event took place at the Danbury Fair Mall where 500 total volunteers took part in the walk, raising more than $60,000 in total. Kathy Graham, Vice President and Branch Manager of Fairfield County Bank’s Main Street Office located in Ridgefield, was instrumental in organizing the Bank’s participation in the event. Kathy is passionate about the Danbury Women’s Center’s mission, “We all are given many opportunities to truly make a difference in people’s lives. There is joy in reaching down to help pull someone else up,” said Graham.
Fairfield County Bank’s team was led by Dan Berta, President of Fairfield County Bank. Berta also acted as emcee of the event and co-chaired the walk with his wife Brenda, “It was wonderful to be part of the event. I am so proud that the Bank was able to support such a great organization. This year’s walk was the most successful yet and we look forward to raising even more money next year,” said Berta.
