Two new PT professionals help “Move You Forward”
Lauren Liddiard, MS, ATC, joined the staff of Ridgefield Physical Therapy this past August. A native of Baldwinsville, New York, Ms. Liddiard earned a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training in 2011 from State University of New York at Cortland. She moved to Danbury, CT in the summer of 2011 to work as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Western Connecticut State University. During this assignment, she had the opportunity to work with sports medicine specialist, Dr. Michael Brand of Danbury Orthopedics, and the WCSU football team, as well as men's basketball and softball teams. Building on her accomplishments, Ms. Liddiard graduated from WCSU in 2014 with a Masters of Science in School Counseling. In addition to her position at Ridgefield Physical Therapy, she will work part time as the assistant athletic trainer at Ridgefield High School.
Also joining the staff is Janette Salvato, PTA. Janette is a Brookfield resident who graduated in 2014 from Norwalk Community College, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant. To fulfill the final requirement of her degree, Janette completed her senior internship at Ridgefield Physical Therapy, under the guidance of Owner Director, Chuck Giordano, DPT. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2012 and recently completed a 200-hour Yoga Certification program through Yoga Alliance at Yoga Culture in Danbury. With growing recognition of the therapeutic values of yoga, her expanded skill set is a welcome addition to the team.
“Both of these young professionals bring strong capabilities, dedication to the field and compassionate caring to their work at Ridgefield Physical Therapy,” says Chuck Giordano, DPT, director of the practice. With over 25 years experience in the treatment of orthopedic and sports medicine issues, Mr. Giordano is certified by the American Physical Therapy Association in treating orthopedic injuries and has been McKenzie certified in the evaluation and treatment of back, neck and extremity disorders since 1994.
