Heart Health Lecture at Laurel Ridge

As part of National Heart month, Laurel Ridge Health Care Center, 642 Danbury Road, invites the community to a lunch and learn program, titled, “Celebrate Your Heart”, on Wed., Feb. 18, at 11:30 AM. Guest speaker Cheryl W. Anderson, EdD, an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in Cardiology, of Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN) will focus on recognition of cardiac risk factors and what can be done to lower the risks.

Many older adults are at risk for coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and other chronic diseases of the heart. Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S., about every one in 4 deaths. Early detection saves lives and people are encouraged to go for yearly medical exams to their doctor.

Ms. Anderson will give tips on how to prevent diseases of the heart, including healthy diets, regular exercises, managing chronic illnesses, and maintaining a healthy weight. Laurel Ridge, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, is proud to partner with Danbury Hospital and WCHN to bring this program to the community.

A light lunch fare will be served at this complimentary program; space is limited. To register , please contact Laurel Ridge at 203-438-8226
