Jack Sanders, Ridgefield historian and author, will present a talk about his latest book Ridgefield Chronicles at the Keeler Tavern Museum 132 Main Street, Ridgefield on Tuesday, April 7th at 7 PM in the Garden House. This engaging evening event is free.

Mr. Sanders, who recently retired after 47 years as editor of the Ridgefield Press, will tell of the remarkable effect the “summer people” had on changing Ridgefield. He will also discuss how the Great Fire of 1895 helped trigger that change. The arrival of these wealthy families from New York City, who summered at the large estates they built in Ridgefield changed the culture of the town in so many ways.

Join us for what promises to be an interesting informative evening about the era from the Gilded Age through the Roaring Twenties in Ridgefield. Enjoy Jack’s talk in a building built by one of these summer people, Cass Gilbert. For further information call 203.438.5485 or visit keelertavernmuseum.org.
